Woodford boasts a lengthy par 72 golf course that consists plenty of doglegs, sandtraps and some water hazards that guard a couple of the greens. It’s quite an interesting layout with each hole seemingly different than the last. Some fairways have a gentle bend left or right and others are almost right angled and require a bit of thought off the tee. The greens and surrounds are well maintained and are the real feature of this course. Thay are quite large and shapely so accurate approaching is imperative to avoid the odd 3 putt. Holes of note include the two par 5’s on the front with water to carry to reach the green, the 429m par 4 5th with an elevated green and the downhill 206m par 3 6th where par is a great achievement. Woodford is a friendly club and an interesting layout, quaint surrounds and a few kangaroos watching your putts makes for a relaxing golfing day out.

Played this course on the long weekend.

One of the best country courses I have played.

It is a fairly flat course and an easy walk.

After a few rounds you could really score a low round on this course. The greens are well kept and offer a challenge.

Very friendly club as well.

I would highly recommend this course for any beginners or someone looking to get out of the Brisbane.

Another great round at Woodford. The courteous staff in the pro shop and on the course always help to make it an enjoyable experience. Fairways, greens, bunkers and tees all in good condition. Great country course. We will be back soon!

Played yesterday. As usual enjoyed the course.A reasonable challenge with a good variety of holes.Heavy rain on last three holes put a dampener (pardon the pun)on the day.Look forward to my next round there.

Solid Course where I shot my best score 104. Quite a few bunkers. Only in one allday so they must be avoidable. No real difficult hole that you could destroy your score. Very happy overall, it was you expect it to be. Better than Caboolture, Pine Rivers and not far off Redcliffe quality. Similar to Wantima but a better variety of 3s & 5s.

PROS

  • Variety
  • Great fairways and green, decent bunker numbers. Short holes. Par 3s are great.

Cons

  • Not many. Need a better course map

Very typical country course. It is quite well laid out although there are way to many blind holes to really enjoy the round. The course is definitely suffering from a lack of water and most of the tees and greens were bare and dried out. In saying that the welcome in the pro shop and the members made up for the state of the course.

Played this course yesterday. Fairways bunkers and greens in great nik. Most enjoyable day of golf I’d had in a long while. The length of the course was just right – not too short or too long. A number of holes were quite a challenge. I was surprised to see such a well stocked pro shop. The staff in the shop were friendly and gave me a few tips before I started.

Only down side was the delay behind two groups of four. The first group had ample opportunity to allow me to play through however they just didn’t seem to care.

In spite of this I will return and hopefully play in their Saturday comp.

Played this course first saturday of the year 2009. What a great little course, well kept fairways, true greens & was just fun to play. The guy in the pro shop would have to be the friendliest guy I have met yet in a golf shop. Made the long drive out a pleasure, will definately return.

Keep up the good work!!

Had a great day at woodford, my golf was pretty ordinary, and the course kept me extremely honest all day. Played with a member there who was a great help in giving me the “local knowledge”. Greens were lightning fast & very true, the green staff do an excellent job there. Fairways great, & the 1 bunker i got in had an excellent amount of sand in it {up n down no worrys}. Would recommend this course to anyone, i will definetly be back ther in the comimng months. Quiet possibly i think one of south east Qld better golf courses. I hope next time i play better when i am there. 3.5 stars.

As far as S E QLD country courses go this is the bees knees. Great little course, not that long, not that challenging but some really memorable holes and cheap as chips. Will be back.

I like this course. As a QLD country course it’s one of the better courses I’ve played on.

It presents with some interesting challenges on holes you think should be easy going. Take the wrong club and you can be in real trouble.

Greens are generally in good shape as are the fairways, but no rain makes for interesting play on the best of courses.

It has some really nice holes, and for me, the best part is the people who play around the course. I’ve played as a visitor in the comp there quite often and there are always some great characters and interesting locals. And everyone up for a drink afterwards.

A good social members club.

The pro shop is good and the on-site Pro is very approachable and available.

I have now put the mocker on myself! It is a wide very forging course of reasonable distance. Adjoing fairways with not much trouble in between makes it easier than it's length suggests. Greens normally good. If we have had no rain for a while the fairways can be terrible! 2 and a half stars.

Woodford golf course is a great course to play at.

It is an 18 hole golf course and has wide fairways and nice big greens that provide a decent challenge.

It is well looked after, a big congrats to the greenskeepers.

Even though it is a bit of a drive for some people to get to it is well worth it.

I recommend giving this course a try.
