Worst course I have ever played on. If you are planning a trip down to the Latrobe Vallley, stay clear from Yallorn. The greens are in worse shape than my front nature-strip. Fairways shocking. Don’t stress about hitting the ball onto the fairways because they are like playing in the rough. Couldn’t find a good patch of grass out there. The bunkers are not sand but fine rocks. The front 9 layout is poor but the back 9 is much better.

Played here on 11/2/12.

Was pretty disappointed with the course condition. Temporary greens on 1st & 9th. Most greens were patchy at best. I don’t know if they were under repair or just neglected but I found them to be mostly pretty awful. Lumpy, patchy, bald in parts. Just not much good.

Bunkers throughout the course were pretty ordinary too. Sand was tightly packed and more like playing off gravel than sand.

Fairways on the front 9 weren’t in great condition- fairly ordinary in fact. Front 9 layout I found to be pretty dull and uninspiring. There are some OK views of the Latrobe Valley from some parts of the front 9, but that’s about it.

Back 9 was far superior and I found the layout to be enjoyable and quite tough. Very different to the front 9. The fairways on the back 9 were almost in mint condition. The back 9 was basically a totally different course to the front 9. I would play the back 9 again but wouldn’t mind if I never saw the front 9 again.

In my opinion the course in its current condition isn’t worth the trip from Melbourne. There are better courses in the area. I think there is real potential for a nice course, but I didn’t see the course turned out well at all.

Course in great condition and a lot of changes going on. Now with a new layout!

Quality fairways and large greens not one hole the same.

The club and social golfer should take the time to check this one out. Well worth the money! Where else can you play a course of this quality for only $20 & the club offers great discounts for group bookings.

A friend and I played on a Friday with a motorised golf cart and it only cost us $25ea twin share. What a deal!!!!
