Yankalilla is quite a hilly course approximately 80m above sea level. There are 18 black soils greens here beginning with the 371m uphill dogleg left 1st. Fees are $10

The Bungala River snakes around the clubhouse and behind the 18th black soil scrape. The village has around 350 people and is bout 70km south of the Adelaide CBD.

I don’t see how it will get too much traffic being located less than 5 minutes to The Links Lady Bay and about 10 minutes to Wirrina Cove.

There’s a bit of history with the Yankalilla golf club for one of us, and that has meant a trip down for the Yankalilla open on more than one occasion. And what a day you will have. Super prizes, an unbelievable feed and plenty of laughs with the locals, well worth the small entry fee.
The course itself is generally not overly difficult. A bit hilly and with some trouble, there are a few adjacent fairways that allow you to have a bit of a crack with the driver. There are however numerous shorter par 4’s that mean it isn’t necessarily required.
A par 68 course, the front nine has 4 par 3’s, the 7th hole being 197 metres up the hill and a good test of long iron or fairway metal hitting. The best holes on the course are perhaps two short par 4’s, being the 9th down the hill with creek on the left and thick rough down the right, and the 13th being only 264 metres but with trees all over the place.
A nice little course that will ensure you hit straight to avoid the thick rough and creek.
