The Carramar Golf Course is best described as a public course of resort-style standard. Designed by Bob Stanton, Carramar was built and opened in 1994 by the City of Wanneroo. Off the Championship tees, it is renowned as one of the toughest tests of golf in Perth. While the course measures 6121 metre (6733 yards) off the back tees, but does not play that long.

Carramar’s reputed difficulty is that it is carved through native Australian bushland, although this gives errant drivers the opportunity to view some of the wildflowers and kangaroos that inhabit the course.

Carramar has possibly the best grass driving range/practice facilities in Perth. The all grass range has a tee that is 150 metres wide which, even in busy times, leaves plenty of room for you to sharpen your game on some of the many target greens. Next to the range are three practice greens, one for putting and two for chipping.

Its seems that the city of wanneroo is pumpimg a lot of money into this facility. Over the last 2 years there has been a great improvement into the condition of the course. The greens are now pure bent grass and would be up there with the best public course greens going around. The fairways are now free of grab grass and the rough is getting nice and long. Off the black tees this would one of the toughest courses in Perth, both public and private as a strayed tee shot will attract harsh penalties.

not a bad course and an excellent grassed practice area. The par 5 hole number 2 has a green the size of a postage stamp, ridiculous design.

This would be the hardest public course in the Perth metro. Was expecting a leasurely day out one Sunday, away from comp but was surprised by the length of some holes and the tightness off the fairways. The course reminded me of Wanneroo, just with less bunkering and slightly more bush in parts.

The price was extremely good, for the quality of course. I’ll definitely be heading back there, as I enjoyed the challenge.

Very good course for the price
Terrific fairways and greens
Long but most holes are separated by bush

A very long course which challanges accuracy and placement. A fair amount of bunkers to protect the course and challanging undulating greens. The clubhouse and practice facilities are in good conditions and very accessible for keen golfers to practice.

it is a real pitty the the superindendant has no idea on how to keep a golf course.

the design and layout would be able to provide one of perth's top courses. the course is real challenge from the back tees and keeping the ball in play is must.

the condition on the course would rate as a dog track. the greens are spongey and in need of a heavy heavy coring. the fairways are rock hard and infested with crab grass. in need of a weeding program.

my advise, play this course, dont expect too much but enjoy the challenge the layout present

I played the front nine at carramar last week. I was planning on a full 18, but i decided against it once i played on the rural fairways and sandy tee-off areas. The fron nine holes of the course are not maintained very well at all. I did have a quick look at the back nine and found that i should have started their. I recommend that anyone planning on play at this club, play the back nine.

Carramar is a great course with excellent priced green fees. The course contains water hazards dozens of bunkers and some very tough pin locations. Carramar has a great proshop with nice scenery and and animals. It can be a very tough course if you don't stay on the fairways due to there thick bush and flora.

Carramar is a beautifully designed West Australian course with all holes surrounded by native Australian flora and fauna. This combination means that anything in the heavy rough is not only difficult to find but also difficult to play.

The length of the course is medium to long with several challenging holes. A wery well presented course that favours the long and the straight.

The course also boasts some great pratice facilities and a very decent pro shop with very reasonable green fees. This only adds to the courses popularity and makes bookings difficult for weekend play, even though it is a good 20 mins north from Perth city.
