probably the best course on the south coast. Played this course during jan and was left extremely satisfied again. The course was in outstanding order with fairways tight and the greens moderately quick. The back 9 is a fantastic challenge and tests every part of your game. Can’t wait to come back.

Played a round here yesterday (end of Sept 2010) for a charity golf day. Course was picture perfect even after the devastating wind storms that have played havoc in the part of the world. Some damage was evident, particularly on the 17th green where a massive gum tree has fallen right across, but the green staff have really done the course and members proud. Greens were a tad sandy but still playable and challenging. Such a beautiful course and well worth the effort.

Played this course in January 2010. Beautiful course with very well maintained fairways and greens.First class design that makes good use of the many slopes and hills.Course carves its way through some very large trees that do a good job of seperating the fairways. Would love to go back again.

Great course. Cut into a forest on the seaward side of a hill above Mollymook. Only glimpses of the ocean, unfortunately, but very scenic. Well maintained fairways and greens. Rough not too tough, and not an excessive amount of ball-eating hazards.

Quite a lot of variety between holes – keeps it interesting.

PROS

• Scenery, well maintained, not too many chances to lose balls, not too excessive a challenge for any golfer

Great course, played there in july in a state championship and it was pure, quick greens very green and a challage, goodd scores there are hard to come by!

Had the pleasure of playing over Christmas and what a treat it was. A great test with excellent fairways, plenty of water, some tight driving holes and challenging Par 3s. The greens are quite large and fast and when the wind is blowing, look out.

One of the most picturesque courses I’ve played. Mark the Pro (previously of Castle Cove G.C., Sydney) makes you feel very welcome. The fairways are in good nick, and even the second cut gives you a fighting chance. Large and close-cut greens make for long putts though. Take care with the deceptive distance of the par 3’s on the back nine…they’re further then they look.

The food in the bistro is generous too.

This course has the potential to be a great course, however, it is let down badly by poor fairways. Many fairways have a lot of bare patches with little or no grass. Improved golf club and ball technology over the last 25 years have taken a lot of distance off this course.

I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK IN A HURRY.

I recently played this course and i loved every hole especially the par 3s which are all reachable in irons even of the plates.

I think its a great course in great condition and i say everyone should play it if they are in town.

When I went to Mollymook Hilltop I was expecting an immaculate course for the large price tag. But, contrary to my belief, this course was more of a goat track than a championship course. There were a total of 11 temporary tees which shortened the hole by as much as 150 metres. These tees were also in extremely poor condition and on fairly hard slopes. Every par 3 was reduced to a pitch and putt. The greens were covered in sand and the ball bumped around alot.

In conclusion I would not recommend this course to anyone. You are much better off going down to Catalina Country Club and pay the same price for 27 holes at an immaculate golf course.

From the back tees the course is a real challenge, given it's mature bush setting with penalties for missing fairways. Enough water to make you worry as well. For me the greens are the real test, with some having slopes that border on unfair - especially the 9th when it's dry and they've shaved it short.

There's no doubting the course's sensual appeal. From the beautiful pond setting around the second tee, to the attractive residential area near the sixth green and on to the fourteenth, where the sound of the crashing of the surf makes you forget your game's troubles for a while.

Overall a hard course to score well, and certainly one that requires fitness to walk. Only downside is that it doesn't hold the wet too well - quite boggy on some holes due to the clay soil.

A great test of golf and fitness! All holes framed by massive gums and the sloping greens which can get frighteningly quick, often impossible from above the hole.

Modern equipment has probably made it a bit easier than years gone by when you had to be very precise with a lot of middle irons from hanging lies.

Don't miss this one if in the area.

Mollymook hilltop golf course is a true test of your golfing ability, not only for the weekend hacker, but also the single figure player. With virtually all fairways lined by 60 to 70 foot gum trees, accuracy off the tee is a must. 9 holes have water hazards to contend with, and the greens are very undulating and also fast enough to make you quiver with that downhill putt. If you are serious about your golf then mollymook is a must on your next south coast golf tour. jackstarone.
