Played here last week and never again.. have played several times and havnt minded it except for staff and members, On several encounters with both members and staff they have not been helpful or friendly. Course is pretty good bit steep on price, but that is the least of their concerns. I would happily reccomend 10 courses with in 30 mins drive rather than wasting money on this.

Dont bother.

On a number of occasions playing partners & myself have played this layout due to it’s location central to our home courses. We have found the pro-shop staff to be friendly & courteous, the course can be challenging relative to one’s form on the day. House staff also cordial & the beer cold, what more could we ask, green fees dearer than some but cheaper than others, also having 36 holes gives an option.

At Nudgee G.C we have up to 1500 golfers per week

We do have the occasional misunderstanding

We do have rules and regulations that both members and visitors have to abide by, which is the case at all golf clubs

Everyone is welcome at Nudgee

Just played Nudgee North today and have to say the piece of crap that works in the pro shop is something else.

When walking up we said that we would like to play 18 and his words were you wont get 18 in so just pay for 9 and play what you can until 5.30.

We then finished the 18 holes and arrived back at 5.34 only 4 minutes late, the guys had already charged our credit cards the extra 9 holes at full rack rate not the difference between 9 and 18 and also charged a penalty fee for being 4 minutes late.

The round at Nudgee has now ended up costing $75.00 each for the 2 of us to play.

This is the last time I will play at this course, I will also no longer consider joining this club as a member.

Cons

  • staff
  • cost
  • drainage

Played on the 7th of April and as a whole found it again a disappointment.
The young guy in the Pro-shop was efficient and courteous, but did not tell us the greens had just been sanded.
When you pay top dollar to walk a course, this information would be nice to know.
Our group, on approach to the 13th tee, were passed by ground staff, and on arrival to the green, no acknowledgement of us was made. We waited there for 5- 10 minutes, while the green was raked and"de-sanded".——THERE WAS NOT ANOTHER GROUP FOR 5 HOLES BEHIND US…a bit of common sense would be useful!!!!
So the last 6 holes were de-sanded greens…really good for a consistant round of putting.
Surely, when the greens are sanded or cored the visitor should be informed and maybe morally a discount be afforded.

I am a member of a Brisbane Club and realize maintainence is of utmost importance…..but Nudgee, so is the importance of your visitor’s enjoyment.

I have played Nudgee many times and have always been underwelmed…for less money, try better courses like Pacific, Riverlakes,Keperra or Redcliffe.

I have played here quite often with friends and after reading the reviews i see that i am not the only one that thinks the staff are unwelcoming.
The staff are not only very unwelcoming but also rude.(more so on the phone when booking). i feel like you need to be a member to play here and casual visitors are not welcome. i think a friendlier nature among staff would go along way. i will not be rushing back due to this.
The course it self i find enjoyable to play with nice and for giving fairways with reasonable greens. After some rain i find the fairways to hold a fair bit of water.
i hope this issue with the staff is addressed and i hope to find them more welcoming and help full next time my friends and i play.

Played here a fair bit recently although I wont be heading back anytime soon. Not once have the pro shop staff been friendly and they make you feel like you arent worthy of playing the course. At first I thought it may be due to our age (we are in our 20’s) but looking at this forum it seems to be the trend.

As for the course its not too bad, decent fairways and greens with plenty of wide fairways which allow room for error for the average golfer. In terms of value for money other courses on here seem to rate a fair bit higher in my opinion.

Course is pretty good..i enjoy playing there. Found the staff not all that friendly and i had also enquired bout subs for membership and found out is a $880 nomination fee then a further $800 for subs and a few other levys for bdga and insurance…i found this an absolute ridiculous price for a course that is nothing special. But would consider if nomination was reduced to a more sensible price..

Have played nudgee a few times now and have not once found the pro shop staff welcoming or even friendly. Have actually stood at the counter while they played on the computer for about ten minutes. Like the course because I think it is an easy place to score but nto sure if it is worth the lack of service.

after trundling down the hill on the first and tenth the course is flat as a tack. some good holes. extremely frustrating 14th, a short par 3, can catch a few out. wide fairways.

Honestly the only thing missing from Nudgee north is elevation. There are only 4 holes on (1,9,10 and 18) that have any sort of elevation change, either from the tee or on the approach.

The greens are tricky to read (especially if you are originally from the bwnt grass greens of the Victorian Sandbelt and surrounds) but true, and when presented at their best are sneaky quick too.

Some well placed fairway bunkers can make you think off the tee, but also leave open the possibility of launching drives (if that shot lives in your bag).

If you play smart, hit fairways (where you will get good lies, contrary to previous entries), Nudgee can open up to low scores, but if you are missing greens, the bogeys add up quickly. Well worth a visit.

Nudgee is a flat course i have played both the North course and South. in the afternoon the course gets a beauitful breeze. The great thing, is that after three it is sixteen dollors to play.

I have played the south course a number of times and was looking forward to challenging the members course.

However what a let down, poor signage on most holes, with very average conditions for all fairways.

What were they thinking on the closing hole, I was under the impression that the 18th hole should be a piece of work to entice a person to come back!

Having said that, the greens are true and well looked after. The hospitality and clubhouse/staff are very good.

This is a challenging layout that should have created a better impression.

There is something missing!

The walk around Nudgee is always a pleasent one as this course is flat as a tack. Laying close to Moreton Bay it is susceptable to flooding when good rain comes through.

Personally I find the greens at Nudgee some of the trickiest in Brisbane to read. They try to break toward the Western sun as a rule but I make no promises.

Best holes are the 2nd, 5th, 11th, and the toiugh 18th.

The new clubhouse is terrific and the Food and Bev are up to scratch.

One criticism of this course is the speed of play during competition rounds. There is always a delay at the 1st, 2nd and 9th tees so get your name down early.

Another good reason to play early is the afternoon breezes. Nudgee gets a lot tougher in the wind and a lot lot slower to get around.

Generally a good course for players of all levels.

A great little 36 hole layout a stones through from Brisbane.

The "North" or members course is normally very well maintained, although suffers from long dry periods due to no fairway watering.

It is a good test to any player whereby a good shot will be rewarded and a bad shot punished. Some good long par 4's and a particularly sneaky little par 3 14th that brings a lot of good rounds undone. (actually registered as the 2nd hardest hole for the pros in the PGA tour school qualifying in 2002)

The "South" course has a fantastic layout although somewhat short. It is used by the ladies for their comp on Saturdays and for social players at other times.

In short a very underated course!
