This really is a great course. Having somehow not played here before, I was very pleasantly surprised at the standard and condition of the course. Whilst starting off relatively tame, by the time you reach the 6th hole it really starts to play long and hard. I played in a fairly strong wind (which made the 209 metre par 3 7th play a lot longer -very tough to reach at all let alone get it close), which really made the course difficult (or maybe that was just my swing…) Visitors fees are very cheap for their comps, and all in all it was a very good experience. I will definatly go back for some revenge soon.

Played here yesterday for the first time and enjoyed it more and more as the round went on.Starts off shorter and more forgiving but gets tighter and longer. It also has quite a bit of change in gradient and some really interesting picturesque holes. The staff were very friendly and it’s great value for money. One novelty for this area was the greens seemed slow
PROS
- nice staff
- interesting contours
- value for money

i am a junior at redcliffe and have been playin at redcliffe for about 2 1/2 years and it has always been really nice and neat, not once have i seen the course in a bad state which is a big challenge for most courses, especially with the draught. i still find the course quite challenging even with experience. i would recommend redcliffe before all of the courses i have played at because it is beautiful and not at all expensive.

The first hole is an easy birdie chance, the average golfer can hit it about 20 metres from the green and jus a little pitch on the green.
The 4th hole (par 5) is a nice par 5 with a tough elevated green and a big dog leg left, the next par 5 is the 10th, you can get on the green in 2 if you get your drive straight and far. The 16th (par 5) is a great hole with water on left and the swamp on right, and the greens a bunkered very well. There is a huge tree about 70 metres from the green wich will stop any golfer from geting on the green in 2

I have played Redcliffe 5 or 6 times and it has always been in good nick . Excellent fairways and well kept greens. A lot of variety with no two holes the same. The previous posts about the mossies are spot on . I have been lucky enough to avoid windy days which is fortunate as the last 3 holes are hard enough without the added joy of hitting into the wind . One of Brisbane's best.

the course was nice enough. The fairways were fine, greens fast
I won't be going back in summer. You can't play golf and swat mosquitos at the same time. Theres just too many mosquitos

This is a good honest members golf course. Fairways always in good nick as they get the recycled effluent. Greens are normally good, however I have played a few times where the greens ahve been dieseased.

What a great track, and only 40 minutes from Brisbane.
Measuring some 5900 metres with a par rating of 71.
I played today at chemist golf, and this course makes you think about ball position, as the fairways are narrow, and surrounded by numerous trees. The greens are true, and a good challenge. Looking back, this course reminds me some what of redland bay- but so much better.
This was second time at Redcliffe and I would highly reccomend it, simply for its outstanding overall value

Measures Par 71 5925m from the back tees with 4 Par 3s ranging from 125-195m, 11 Par 4s ranging from 290-415m and 3 Par 5s ranging from 435-480m. Not too bad a course, and of the 6 courses I played on in northern Brisbane, this was my favourite, in terms of playing conditions, layout, challenge and value.
No real challenge of par 3s 11th being the toughest as the pin is slightly obscured from the tee. Par 4s are all of good length and challenge the golfer to make par, and are easily the courses best attributes. The 9th (index 1) was playing like a par 5 with the wind, speaking of which, the Par 5s did not overly impress me. The Par 5 16th was probably the pick of the three with water left near the green and bunkers guarding the green. Greens were a little slow and undulating that make putts difficult to read. Fairways are trimmed close and are in great condition,..rough, just stay on the fairways to keep that ball. The tee-beds were in excellent condition ñ flat lots of green trimmed grass.
Played here on Monday 20/2/06 and paid $14 for a round of 18 after 2pm Brisbane standard time. Good value and very good clubhouse to boot. Surprising that I never heard of this gem before, but now I have I will be back to play there, if in brissie again shortly.

Situated just over the Houghton Highway and next to a Mangrove swamp, you'll find Redcliffe Golf Club. This was my second trip here in 10yrs and I certainly wasn't disappointed. This is a shot -makers course. There is hardly a par 4 or 5 that doesn't dogleg either way to some degree. If you can shape the ball both ways, it will certainly stand you in good stead around here. The course is a good mix of short, medium and long 3's, 4's and 5's. Plent of scoring opportunities mixed in with some survival holes. The course is suprisingly hilly in some sections which adds to the degree of difficulty. With the exception of a couple of the greens, they were generally top class to putt on. This course is well worth the $25-$30 it costs to play here.

I believe Redcliffe to be one of the better Brisbane courses with something of a challenge for most players and particularly when the breeze gets up in the afternoon.
The design of the course ensures a greater challenge to the thinking side of the game. Those greens have a real bite you in the butt attitude just when you think you have mastered them. The opening two holes offer an easy opening into a round of golf that can lull you into a false sense of security about your game. The 1st (Par 4) can be an easy birdie hole. The green is almost driveable (for the average longish hitter) - I have seen it driven. The course is not the type of course where you can pull out the driver on every hole, instead I find it to be one of those courses where you really need to think about placing the ball for the shot into the green. Watch the 5th green, this has got to be the toughest greens in Brisbane, walking away with Par on it is something to celebrate. Other birdie holes include the 4th, 8th, 10th, 14th and 15th. After that just try to get home with your handicap intact.
Take lots of Mozzie repellent for the back 9. I have seen men carried away by them! There are holes on the back 9, where a wayward shot (in summer into the trees), has you considering taking the penalty rather than trying to retrieve the ball from the mozzies.
The staff are very friendly, and the clubhouse with it's deck is a great place to rest after a round and watch the sun set.
If you haven't been it's definitely worth the trip.

I've played this course 20 times and every time I've learn't something new.
The big point to learn is that the grainy greens see everything break towards the 16th tee - West. It really is hard to believe the first few times you play this course just how much this rule holds true.
The other golden rule is to pack the Aeroguard as the mozzies will drain you of every last drop off blood. The trees that separate the 14th and 15th are so bad that I have considered conceding a lost ball rather than going in to hit my original ball.
There is a great mix of holes on this course. When the wind blows the run in is a nightmare. You can get a good score going however as there are good birdie opportunities on 1, 4, 5, 8, & 10. After that, just try and get through the back nine without too much damage.
The new clubhouse makes a world of difference to the vibe of the course. The food could be better.
Well worth the trip across the bridge.

Redcliffe is a course which has two personalities. On a clear calm day the course is pleasant stroll and presents good scoring opportunites on all holes. Straight shots are rewarded with easy approaches. Errant shots have you playing out from under trees and over bunkers and /or water. Then you play the course when the wind blows and your previous impressions count for little as the course turns into a monster. The closing 3 hole stretch (par 4, par 5, par ) play directly into the southeaster that is usually blowing straight of Moreton Bay. It turns the Par 4's into Par 5's. Low punched shots are required as any high shot are taken by the wind into the mangrove hazard which borders the entire righthand side of these holes. Just on other thing to add -always bring your insect repellent the mozzies are really bad.

I’m a member very good course nice and green through the year, very good finishing holes 16,17 and 18 a lot harder into the wind. Daniel Millward made the comment on the 21-Feb-07 the AVERAGE golfer can hit it off the TEE, 20 metres from the green on the 1st hole IS he a + 3 marker, I think he had to many Rums.
