Tanah Merah Country Club is the result of the concerted effort of a group of Singaporeans dedicated to the creation of one of the finest golf clubs in the region.
Building the Garden Course proceeded at full tilt throughout 1981. It was completed after four years of planning and construction. The planners did not miss the opportunity to maximise on the available resources. Artificial lakes were excavated and mounts were created for both visual interest and an element of challenge for the golfers.
As a result, a strikingly scenic feature is added to an otherwise monotonous landscape of the massive East Coast reclaimed land.
Even airline passengers cannot fail to be captivated by the sight of the sprawling, lush “garden” adjoining Changi Airport.
