This is a typical resort style course, with good couch fairways and bent greens. There are some hills, but it is a relatively easy walk. Green fees of $40 are reasonable and it is well worth playing if you are in the area. Whilst the greens are in good condition they are a little slower than you would expect. Make sure you take plenty of water as there is only one place (at the 9th tee) to refill.

Another South Australian course with a short par 4 1st that dog legs to the right (see Bordertown and Loxton for comparisons) but unlike those two there’s no trees to the right, just a waste area which looks a part of a links course. Quite deceptive, as it certainly isn’t a links course.
Despite the dry conditions the course was in good condition when played, but the greens still struggle to really fulfill their potential. It really is the only thing holding the course back.
The pick of the par 3’s, and probably the best hole on the course is the par 3 11th down the hill. A view over the green well below you, and longer than a lot of par 3’s with very raised tees.
The finish is also superb, with a testing dog leg par 4 17th that can reward those cutting the corner and then a great par 5 with well positioned bunkers and a well protected green. Birdies are certainly available, but so is some real trouble.
In fact, there is real trouble around the course with thick rough in places meaning you aren’t likely to find your ball, so keep it on the short stuff.

This is a great course, but i would really like to see someone try and drive no.2 it is 370m+ from the “visitor” markers. and the big downhill par 3 is the 11th. The layout is great , and the bunkering first class. However its the variety that really wins here. No two holes are the same. There are short par 4’s that make you think, testing downhill par 3’s and par 5 holes that if you play em right – you will get reward for. Well worth the $35.

Bring a straight tee shot here! I have played this course several times in recent months, but not since heavy rains. The course has been constantly been upgraded of recent times having bent grass greens layed in the last few years and two new holes also. Well wooded is a polite way of saying, “don’t hit it in the tree’s if you want a respectable score.” I quite enjoy playing here as the carts are all new, and it`s not too dear. Gotta say though, it’ll be even better when the greens settle fully and run a tiny bit truer, or my putting improves…..

Hope you can crack a nice long straight drive, because you’ll need one here. This beautiful course was carved out of the forest a long time ago, but has recently undergone some changes. All bent grass greens have taken hold nicely, and all bar one fairway are in very nice condition. Low handycappers will be challenged by a great veriety of holes here in length shape and elevation. $30 per round now is still worth it, and you’ll get a game most days. My favourite two holes would be the par 4 2nd, a nice downhill reachable by big (and I mean big!) hitters, and the par 3 10th, which may only be 160m, but is at least 70-80m down to the green, making club selection quite interesting. If you want a fun challenge and get under 100 sometimes, this is a fun place to play. Oh yeah, they just got a dozen new buggies out there, $35 per round, a wise choice unless you are REALLY FIT!!!
