Gailes Golf Club hosted the Australian Open in 1955 and the Australian Senior Open in 1999, as well as many major Queensland events. An attractive, long course, with interesting bunkers, and minimal water, Gailes has excellent drainage and is arguably the best wet weather course in Brisbane. Visitors are always welcome.

We had a great afternoon at Gailes. The challenging course was complimented by a wonderful array of wildlife. The greens were a little firm, they weren't receptive to aggressive wedge play, there seemed to be more value in running the ball up from the front of the greens. The fairways were in great order.

This is a very good course for your average golfer. Not overly challenging and can be very rewarding if you take it on. Very enjoyable course and heaps of wildlife to view on the way around. I will be back again soon.

I've played Gailes many times before and this time I found the course to be in great order. It was tough to get a feel for the speed of the greens because of the heavy due and freezing early morning but they were in fine shape. The layout and length of the course is always a challenge at Gailes. It's a fair golf course, if you miss a fairway you're going to be punished by the mature tree line but you will be rewarded with nice run if you're down the middle. The fairways were in excellent conditions. The local wildlife certainly add another dimension to the day.

Played last week, nice course, very long. One of the members was VERY rude, people like this put you off your game.

What a course!! Excellent condition with challenging holes. The first two holes are par 5 and are both crackers. I will definitely play again. Pro shop staff were very friendly and helpful as well.

Course is always in good condition but I don't think much of thr layout to be honest. Green speed is always consistent and roll very true. Tricky at times being rather grainy. Clubhouse and changeroom facilities are prehistoric. Probably one of the worst clubhouses in Brisbane in my opinion.
