Its a very nice track with quite a few very good holes. The
scenery on 12 through 16 is absolutely stunning.
The course is not overly long and it really depends on the wind
to give it its spine. It can be a very nasty place to play when
the wind blows.
Membership is less than $400 an absolute snip for the quality
of course on offer.
The clubs is very welcoming to visitors. Its well worth the trip.
All the reviews on here are glowing for this course and all are
well deserved. Teed off at 7.30am on a Tuesday morning and was
the only person there. However by 8am-8.30am quite a few had
turned up to play this outstanding and enjoyable course.
Conditions are relatively calm at that time of the morning and on
the roadside holes you are reasonably well protected. However, on
the seaside holes the wind definetly comes into play and makes
club selection and game management an absolute priority. So many
great holes on this course and ensure you take a camera. Elevated
tees, on several holes, undulating greens and strategically plced
bunkering makes this a fabtstic course to play for any standard.
Probably as close as you would get to a great links course
anywhere on the mainland.
Any golfer who finds themself within driving distance of Port
Fairy Links would be crazy not to play a round. This has to be
the best value public course in the state if not the country.A
true links course with sweeping perfect fairways and large
billiard table quality greens. A great test for low and high
markers alike.Beware when the wind blows, like any great brittish
links course it can break your heart when the weather is against.
Great service in the pro shop tops off a very fullfilling golfing
after reading other ppl’s reviews i had to giv this course
a go when i was in the area again, and it didnt let me down!
Totally enjoyed my round ere, other than playing well the course
was great to play, a bit easier than warnambool but as tough when
the wind blows. Fav holes r any where u can see the ocean which
is most of them! The par 3’s are awesome especially the 8th
a short downhill hole surrounded by bunkers and the 15th a
signature links hole. Great value for money deffinatly play here
if ur in the area!
The course at Port Fairy is a must play if you are ever in the
area. It is a windswept layout exposed to the elements,
particularly on the back 9. The holes from the 11th to the 16th
are simply spectacular with views out into Bass Strait. I would
rate the par 4 14th as one of the great par 4's in Australia.
Port Fairy would not be out of place amongst the great links
courses situated on the Scottish coastline.
Situated approx. 20 mins out of Warrnambool, this country course
is a gem. A links style course providing some spectacular views
on the holes running parallel with the beach. A true test of golf
when the winds up. If your ever down that way do yourself a
