Played here today off the men's blue tees in SGA Vic event ($59 incl comp fee). Short par 68 course with 6 x par 3's + some very undulating greens. I think I pulled my driver out of the bag on 5 occasions in total around the 18. Was slightly disappointed after being told there were bare patches on fairways due to sun damage so you'd expect there to be much run, but in fact the back holes farthest from clubhouse were quite boggy. Greens were great fun, you only need to have a putt on the practice greens to work out what you're in for. Very soft under foot + slow. You can make your approach shot stick. Bunkers for me didn't really come into too much play either on the fairways or greens. My playing partner experienced no issues in them. Disagree that the creek comes into play. I reckon only the par 5 on back 9 where it really might affect your shot. Both par 5's are makeable in 2 good shots (be wary of back 9 par 5, short par 3 that follows makes you think that's the green!). Tee boxes were a bit all over the shop. They need some real work in addition to the fairways. Scenery around the course is fantastic. You have views of the rolling hills on most holes + the elevated tees on some holes were pretty memorable. Clubhouse facilities are great with access to the change rooms + under cover parking.

Played the RACV Country Club on a perfect spring day yesterday for the first time and was not disappointed by the Mike Clayton redevelopment! It proves that a short course can be challenging requiring you to think your way around the course especially when hitting your approach shots to the tricky undulating superbly maintained greens! With well placed bunkers and plenty of creek carries this course is very unique due to the six par threes that taunt you from the tee! Do yourself a favour and have a round out at the RACV Country Club and enjoy the world class facilities here in Victoria!

Played this course on 26/01/12 and was surprised which how much it has improved. Clayton has done a great job! Still not a long course which suits the oldies, but the new greens can be brutal if you don't put the ball in the right spot. Fairways are good but some earth works in progress to improve drainage (doesnt really get in your way though). Some great holes to look for are the 8th, 10th 15th and 18th.

The perfect course for its location. A quirky mix of fun, challenge and playability over a variety of holes. 6 par 3's, two testing 4.5 par holes and a mix of short and medium par 4s. I hit every club in my bag, some by choice off the tee. I was skeptical of its recent rating as the 53rd best course in the country, but after playing it I am absolutely impressed and would play it again in a heartbeat. A short course that has width, provides options, rewards bravado and smart strategic play, plus it has some of the most brilliant greens in the country. This is an absolute must play. And then there is the short course. 4 more cracking little holes including a Biarritz green.

Reminded me of a expensive bottle of wine, high expectations, but disappointed with end result. Greens were cored and fairways flooded after heavy rains in Melbourne, green fees were $50. Some of the greens are just ridiculous, although they look, there are too many undulating greens. Get used to the 3 putt. 8th,15th and 16th holes I think are the best holes, with forgiving greens.

Probably not as great as RACV Cape Schanck but still a fantastic course to have a round of golf at. Some interesting holes including the 4th hole downhill Par 3, the criss-cross 5th and 7th holes, and a signature 18th hole that is incredibly difficult to birdie. Nice country vibe to the course with excellent clubhouse facilities. The bouncy mat is a lot of fun too.
