Ping G2 (Drivers)

Ping | Drivers | User Rating: Rate-4 (4.5) | Add A Review

The G2 Driver, which measures 460cc and is made of titanium, features an internal weighting system that reduces spin and launches the ball higher for added distance and accuracy. Several tour players, including Hensby, are claiming distance gains of 10-15 yards. They are also responding very favorably to the shape of the new driver.

In addition to the 460cc version, men and women with slow swing speeds can choose a 400cc, 15.5 degree loft version of the G2. This smaller version is designated G2 EZ (slow swing speed men) and G2 Ladies.

The weighting advantages in each model are achieved through a variable width sole and other strategic weight placement. The thin, variable thickness face is precision machined for greater energy transfer and consistency to ensure high performance on off-center hits.

Four lofts are available in the 460cc version (7, 8.5, 10 and 11.5 degrees) and three shaft choices (PING TFC 100D, Aldila NV 65 and Grafalloy ProLaunch 65) in R, S and X flexes give golfers multiple options in matching the shaft and loft characteristics to their swings. The PING TFC 100D is also offered in a Soft R and Ladies flex for the 400cc version.

Have tried a few drivers over the last few years, Callaway FT3, Cleveland 460 but nothing comes close the the straight drivesI consistantly hit with with G2. Would highly recommend one in a pro launcher 65S shaft

Had my G2 2 years and when I went to look at the new set the pro said the new pings has a lower sweet spot so I teed my G2 slightly lower with mine and got another 10 metres.

Previous driver was ft 3 so i have back traded to G 2 and am hitting it 20 to 30 m further. Seems to come out harder and rolls further.

And better accuracey

I have never driven the ball so long or consistantly straight. My previous driver Calloway C4 was inconsistant so my confidence dropped. With the Ping I am confident and playing attacking shots from the tee. It really works

I have had my G2 for 6 months and has performed beyond all expectations. An extra 25m puts me closer to the flag, then gives me a shorter shot into the green.Different ball-game altogether!!

I have tried a lot of drivers in recent years but the G2 is by far the best. Now I am getting another 20-30m more with a far greater accuracy. My club speed is 102 so I went with the Ping stiff shaft and it has certainly tightened up my game whereas before the drives would drift with non centred hits. If you are looking for a driver that performs, this is the one. My handicap was 17- now it is 10. Just in a few weeks of having it.

The clubhead speed I generate at 90mph places me on the cusp of needing a regular or stiff flex shaft. I went with regular and a loft of 11.5 degrees. I am now hitting that ball 15 meters further than I had but the accuracy factor has really blown me away. Even on miss hits I'll land on the first cut of rough. If you need extra distance and excellent accuracy this is the driver.

Having only used my new Ping G2 driver for 4 games I find that I have another 20 metres off the tee. The feel is excellent (as the sound). Even off centre hits go further than ever before. The 460 cc head gaurantees a hit and after initially being a bit put off by the large head I am now very comfortable with it. It certainly increases your confidence to "grip it and rip it!"
