Strata redefined golf balls in 1996 with its revolutionary multi-layer construction. Strata, again, redefines what a golf ball can do with the New Strata Tour Ultimate. The Tungsten Energy Core concentrates the weight in the center of the ball, allowing for greater transfer of energy from the club to the ball, resulting in a higher launch angle for more distance and spin. The ultimate combination of distance and control.

I have been using the strata tu ball for about six months and have been really happy with the distance i get off the tee.The ball holds well on the green and has a great feel with my irons, but i cannot get one of these balls to last any more than about 27 holes before i have to replace it.I am currently experimenting with other balls with the hope of finding one with the same feel and distance as the strata tu dut with a more durable cover.

The Strata Tour Ultimate is up there as one of my two favourite balls on the market right now.

This ball has great distance and excellent greenside characteristics. It is quite easy to spin and checks very nicely.

My only concern is that the cover is not very urable and unlike macleod i rarely get more than 9 holes out of one of these balls before it needs replacing.

When the greens and fairways are hard, and the weather's warm, this is my ball of choice.

My first attempts to use the Strata TU were mixed since i kept putting them into hazards and stopped for awhile so i didn't lose more $. more fool me! :)

I recently put one through 2 days and 36 holes of a players championship and used the same balls both days with great results.

TU's actually feel heavier than other balls, probably due to the tungsten core and the response of all your clubs is great and solid.

Putting is excellent too. although Wilson's reports would have you believe the TU's a predomiantnly unbalanced it really hasn't been apparent to me probably due to my underdeveloped senses in this area.

Feel for chipping and short range is excellent and the spin generated by the TU's is fantastic. I noticed this more than ever when chipping and with lob shots as normally i'd allow for some roll but the TU check up really well so i adapted quickly.

The cover does begin to show some wear but overall the durability is great considering the amount of spin you can generate with your short irons and wedges. Normally you'd expect some major shearing but having put one through 2 days of play the scaling and grazing was surprisingly minimal.

Overall a great ball and due to it's durability secondhand purchasing is ideal as they can be gotten at great prices.

I haven't used the newer TU2 but i'll give it a shot soon even though i've heard mixed reports about them. Mainly from US guys though soo.. :)
