UPDATE Following my previous review on the j33 Combo set these irons have been superseded a few times j36, j38 and now j40. At the minute I am using a combo j36 Forged set of irons. The j33’s i sold after no longer being able to use stiff flex shafted clubs. Not enough swing speed.Have been alternating between ap2 reg flex and an old set of cavity backs with blades making my own combo set. Couple of weeks ago came across a new set of j36 on special $175 later I had them in the bag. Once again a delightful combination in my hands. With blade 4,5,6,9,PW and cavity back 3,7,8, accuracy and ease of use have me back in the gross 81-83 scoring zone.

On reaching a 14 hcp and getting comp. scores of 82-84 gross the time had come to get a set of irons to take me to the goal of 10 hcp. HAd been trialling blades and cavity backs for 6 months in preparation and in the wek the decision to begin the serious looking played a round with the 2010 club champ. whom I beat in the 2009 handicap championship. He had offered to let me have a hit with his J33’s any time as he had moved to a set of Titleist AP2’s. A week on the range and a few roundds and the decision was made to take the J33’s The combo mix has made my short game a much more precise asset. The longer irons especially teh #2 have been terrific with accurate shot maki9ng and a deligghtful balance and feel in the hands. With S300 shafts the control with shots and ease of gauging distance have been good also. Feel very satisfied with the irons and knowing that I have a set that have taken a previous owner to the same target goal I have is a bonus.

I have been using these clubs for about 2.5 years (had them fitted properly – first time i did this), and they were simply a joy to hit – still are. You have to be a decent ball striker though as you can definitely feel mishits (and unfortunately see the result aswell!!). I had them fitted with the standard dynamic gold r300s to start and recently wanted to get a stiffer shaft in them – i also needed new grips on most of them. So, i set about getting an idea of cost and it worked out that i could get the new J36 set for a little more – so thanks to the salesman’s spiel i got myself fitted out with the J36 combo set with project x 5.5 (which is about the equivalent of s300) and the cord grip for no extra cost and off i went.
Nice clubs for sure but lacks the buttery smooth feel of the J33s – i actually wanted to post comments on the J36 but couldnt – my point is that for me the J33 is a better feeling club – if you can still buy em – i think they should be on sale or something – definitely worth it. Bridgestone irons are seriously underrated in the market.

I was fitted with a set of these to replace my first set of clubs. My first clubs were the result of walking into the shop and asking "what are the cheapest clubs you have", so its hardly a fair comparison. However… love the forged feel, even a 20 handicapper like me can feel the difference. Reasonably easy going clubs and I’ve enjoyed playing with them to date.

had my old set a long time and never seemed to get any better, seen these irons, loved how they looked and had to get a set, best thing i could of done easy to shape shots with magic feel and on any decent green any ball will pitch and stop with the shorter irons, the only problem i found is the irons mark very easily being softer metal.ive shaved 4 shots in 6 months so i would recommend them to anyone who is looking for good clubs.
