The X Series is about giving serious golfers total performance with enhanced forgiveness for the ultimate in confidence. The X-20 Irons deliver in every way by offering technology, innovation and playability that will take your game to a new level. Using the Progressive Wall Reduction System, Callaway Golf engineers lowered the centre of gravity (CG) 6 percent more than in the X-18 Irons

Progressive Wall Reduction means the CG gets progressively lower throughout the set. The CG is lowest in the long irons, helping you get the ball airborne more easily. With its traditional styling and Callaway Golf core technologies, the X-20 Irons provide the performance and forgiveness to play the game with enhanced confidence.

Extreme Notch Weighting and 360-Degree Undercut Channel redistributes even more weight to the extreme perimeter of the iron to create a high Moment of Inertia for greater forgiveness and more stability. The 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximises perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower and farther back in the clubhead, enlarging the hitting area and stabilising the clubhead for more forgiveness.

Variable Face Thickness (VFT) Technology maximises ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness.

S2H2 increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel and repositioning it in the perimeter of the clubhead. Tru-Bore provides improved feel and clubhead control.

Following an interruption of some 20 months after a confrontation with a motor vehicle, and several operations later, I resumed my playing interest in September 2008. As I have limited mobility in my left leg, new clubs were purchased to compensate for swing restrictions and limited leg movement. I purchased a set of Callaway X20 irons (4 through SW) supported by a Cleveland 60 degree lob wedge and Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver and 3 wood. Completing the package is a Callaway X3 hybrid. To say I am impressed is not strong enough. While moving back to regular flex shafts, I am striking the ball as consistently, with great elevation and reliability. Some 2 months later I am playing off 11, and expect to come in 3 strokes per month. Prior to the accident I was off 3, and played a set of stiff shafted Titleist forged blades which are sitting in my garage. I could not be happier with these new clubs and recommend them to any player who is serious about consistency, playability and feel.

Changed from X18 Stiff Flex shafts to X20 Steel shafts 6 month ago. Had been using the X18 Flex after a broken arm recovery a few years ago, found them more than adequate. Progressed to the X20 Steel shafts looking for a little more control in terms of direction and flight. Result has been very good but requires a little more work on the swing consistency. Analysis probably is that the X20 Steel shaft clubs require more “attention to detail” in the swing than the old Flex shafts, however the result has been a marked improvement in accuracy.
