Wilson Staff Zip (Balls)

Wilson Staff | Balls | User Rating: Rate-5 (5.0) | Add A Review

With an overall fifty compression rating, the Zip is the lowest USGA approved compression ball available to consumers today. The three layers of the Wilson Staff Zip, each having specific functions, work collectively to offer golfers total performance from a golf ball. The zero compression core enhances feedback to the golfer at impact, while generating lower spin rates when struck with longer irons and woods for straighter ball flight.

The zero compression core inside the Wilson Staff Zip fuels the softest feel of any golf ball available on the market today, as well as a low spin rate off the driver for straighter shots. A high-velocity Neodymium Catalyzed Polybutadiene is used to achieve the zero compression.

Surrounding the zero compression core is a patented DuPont HPF Speed Mantle layer. Initially developed as a potential replacement for a rubber core, the HPF mantle layer provides maximum initial velocity allowed by the USGA off the club face. The HPF mantle also allows for traditional components of the ball to be altered in order to achieve greater distance, enhanced feedback and appropriate spin rates.

Outside, the soft, thin, pliable ionomer cover bites to the grooves of scoring clubs for greater spin, resulting in greater control and accuracy around the green. Like all Wilson Staff golf balls, the Zip also features Wilson’s proprietary PhD (Pan Head Dimple) design. The large, shallow dimples (50% shallower than a standard dimple) promote a significantly higher launch to maximise flight and distance.

love these balls. definately comparable to topoftheline titleists. infact, i think these are better. more forgiving off the tee and definately controllable and safe around the pin. half the price, infact rockbottom have 3 doz for $us40. they dont spin as much as the pro v1s but they grab and stay, i hardly get too much back spin as my pro v’s which is allowing my chipping and lobbing game to fluorish! since playing these, my handicap has gone from 13 to 5 within 6 months. thanks

Used these balls in a long golf tour where we were going to lose a few balls. Didn’t want to waste too much money so purchased a box of these. Best thing I have ever done. Great distance and able to check on the green. Provided you don’t hit them in the water they last well and at below $50.00 a Doz good value.

the best ball without a doubt. I played a practice round with 2 zips and 2 pro v1X and while i feel thu the titleist came off the face hotter the distance i was achieving with both balls was the same. Wilson you have made a winner.

All I have to say is WOW!!! I used these balls for the first time today, and from now on I will use them… I am a 4 handicap and 90% of the time use callaway balls… but these balls have a great feel and are huge pff the driver… i had to club down on numerous shots because the ball went longer than what i was expecting… i have gained about 15-20 yards on irons already… but i would give these balls a try.. and for the price you cant beat it!!!!!!
