- Soft proprietary cover provides premium feel and allows the ball to stop quickly on the green for exceptional short-game control.
- Soft, high-resiliency core enhances feel and helps maximize ball speed, resulting in long distance for a wide range of swing speeds.
- Ionomer mantle layer works with the core to increase ball speed while maintaining soft feel.
- HEX Aerodynamics replaces conventional dimples and virtually eliminates the seam for enhanced shot-to-shot consistency and long, efficient ball flight.

My Club Pro told me that the new Callaway HX Hot Bites are the best ball on the market, but he will tell you about very product that he sells. My first impression wasn’t that hot as I smashed the new ball off the tee and straight into the dam. O’well out with another one and finished that round with it. I felt that the ball was similar to the Tour Softs with flight and control around the greens. It also left the putter nicely. With the soft cover it does scuff up by the end of the round, so it looks like the son will get a few more scuffed up balls in his bag. Its better than the new Pro V’s that I found in his bag.

I received some of these balls as part of a deal for buying a new set of Callaway club. I may not be the best person to judge as I’m not a big hitter, but my 1st impressions are that this ball is no longer than others. It definitely bites on the greens which is not to my liking as it comes up short until you adjust the power to allow for that. My biggest gripe is that they get their bite from a soft cover, which seems to cut quite easily, and to the extent it can divert putts. On this basis, the ball may last less than a full round. I’m normally a big fan of Callaway gear, but this ball may be more suited to those who can afford 2 or 3 new balls every round.

Picked up a couple of these on advice of the local pro as a cheaper alternative for balls won in the ball comp (paying an extra $3 pre ball doesn’t make you feel like you actually won anything) and put one into play last Wednesday at Cabramatta. They appear to be in the same category as the NXT Tour, in between 2 piece and premium.
I found it to be a really good all round ball. The feel of the clubface was soft but solid, not too mushy. Good distance off the driver, consistent off the irons. Decent amount of spin on full shots into greens, got it backing up on anything shorter than 8 iron (greens were fast from being rolled but soft from watering).
Very nice feel off the putter, soft but not too soft, and had good istance control. Okay chipping around the greens, can’t comment too much as I don’t play that course regularly and can’t compare with other balls but got it to check up reasonably fast.
At the end of the round it still looked new, very little wear and tear. All round I’d say there is very little noticeable difference in performance bewteen this ball and the premium balls on the market. I liked it better than the NXT tour ball.

They are a long ball and soft but if you use a wedge with zip grooves or spin milled etc then one full shot will shred the cover.. I pulled a brand new one out the other day crunched the drive hit a full gap wedge into the green (about a foot or 2 of backspin which is what the ball is supposed to do) but on walking up to the green i noticed the ball was very badly scuffed so bad i couldnt put with it (had flakes coming off the cover) surely for the price it should bea bit more durable.
