Mizuno, maker of the world’s finest irons, is set to introduce the new MP-52 Grain Flow Forged irons featuring the debut of Mizuno’s latest innovation, Dual Muscle Technology. Comprising Dual Muscle Technology is an outer muscle pad which allows for a precisely placed, lower and deeper center of gravity, offering enhanced playability and an ideal launch angle, and an inner muscle pad which provides the unparalleled feel and feedback that better players demand.

Along with increased forgiveness and playability, the MP-52s with Dual Muscle Technology will deliver the unsurpassed feel and precision that that only comes from Mizuno’s patented Grain Flow Forging.

The result is an iron that delivers an extremely consistent and predictable ball flight and unmatched workability while also providing extra forgiveness that any player can benefit from. The MP-52 is the most playable MP iron ever created.

Other features of the new MP-52 include a rolled leading edge, cambered mid-sole, and an aggressively beveled trailing edge to deliver consistent striking ability from all types of lies, modified U-grooves that produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions, and a durable double nickel chrome plated finish for a player preferred look.

The MP-52 will be offered in right and left handed models with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 and R300 steel shafts for a suggested retail price of US$1,100 and also available with Project X 5.5 shafts for US$1,200. The exclusive MIZUNO/Golf Pride M-21 58 Round grips will come standard. (Other shafts and grips as well as length and lie options are available through Mizuno’s Custom Club department.)

Mizuno will begin shipping the MP-52 irons to accounts in September 2008.

What can I say…..

perfect, as soon as I swung this club and hit a ball i went wow…and still wow factor is there 3 months later, these are just sublime irons.

Ball flight is excellent, Im no going to say they gave me extra distance because they dont! My 7 iron still goes 140 but its the control I wanted and thats where they excel, I can shape the ball and still have forgiveness.

The 3-7 is cavity back and 8-PW is muscle back, this is perfect

I have shot 74 with these twice now (Im off 8 cap)

I too use nippons too, great shafts

all up cost me 650 from the "bay of plenty" – bargain once again!

These would suit a ten marker or even up to low teens.

I wont bang on anymore…great irons…they look nice in the bag but still have forgivness that we need….get them now!!

I got these a while back and struggled a little bit. This was mainly because I wasn’t practicing much at the time. Work and family commitments, etc. I’m now really loving the way the perform. The look great at address (No real problems with seeing the cavity at the back of the 3-7 irons). They feel very sweet when you hit the middle and unlike my TM Tour Burners, the feedback is instantaneous and valuable. I felt like I was getting away with a lot with the TMs and didn’t pick up on dodgy swing habits until it was too late. Distance is noticeably shorter due to the stronger loft angles on the TMs but much greater consistency with the distances with the Mizunos. Had the choice between the 52s and 57s and went with the MP-52s with Nippon NS 950 shafts in stiff. Very happy.
