TaylorMade staff players participating in this year’s Masters Tournament are each using a special edition staff bag. The distinctive-looking bags are green and yellow with black accents, and are further distinguished by a pair of felt patches that each bear the words “Season Opener,” and which were inspired by the clubhouse badge used at the 1953 tournament.
Players using the bags at Augusta include Fred Couples, Mike Weir, Darren Clarke, Rich Beem, K.J. Choi, Sergio Garcia, Tom Lehman, Justin Rose, Retief Goosen, Peter Lonard and Kenny Perry.
Two bags have been made for each participating TaylorMade player. The player will keep one, while the second will be used during the tournament. The used bags, which will be autographed by the player afterward, have been sold and the proceeds of these sales will be donated to The First Tee Program.
In addition, TaylorMade has created a special edition cap for staff professionals to wear during this year’s Masters competition. These green-colored hats, which bear a “Season Opener” patch on the back (similar to the patches on the bags, only smaller), are currently available to the public in limited quantities through TaylorMade’s retail partners.
