New Zealand Amateur semifinals delicately poised

IN: News | New Zealand Mens Amateur | New Zealand Amateur Championship (2003) | Round Three | by Bruce Young | 12 Apr 2003

In two close fought semi-final matches at the New Zealand Amateur Championship in Dunedin, both matches are delicately poised as they head into the final eighteen this afternoon.

James Nitties has a one hole lead over Michael Sim through eighteen and in the second semi final Hamish Robertson leads Dean Sipson by just the one hole after leading three up through eleven holes.

The West Australian Sim jumped out of the blocks with an early birdie to lead the New South Welshman but when Nitties won the third with a par he was never again headed over the first eighteen holes at the Chisolm Park course.
