Ogilvy qualifies for his first US Open

Victorian Geoff Ogilvy has qualified for his first US Open championship following 36 holes of sectional qualifying at the Lakes and Double Eagle courses in Ohio.
Ogilvy finished at -8, two strokes clear of the qualifying cut. Australians to miss the cut were Wayne Grady, who closed the day at -2, Stephen Allan -1 and Peter O’Malley at Even par.
Ogilvy will now join Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Stephen Leaney, Peter Lonard, Craig Parry and Adam Scott in the field for the Open, which starts at Olympia Fields next week.
John Senden, Steve Elkington and Rod Pampling and John Senden are among others to line up for sectional qualifying tomorrow at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Washingston.
