Marshall and Yeo share lead at Big Apple

Scotland's Kathryn Marshall shot a -3 (68) to claim a share of the lead along with Korean Minny Yeo after the first round of the Sybase Big Apple Classic. Yeo got a start in this week's tournament only after Se Ri Pak pulled out and is playing in just her third tournament of the year on the LPGA Tour.

Sherri Steinhauer opened her account this week with a -2 (69) and is tied for third alongside Kelli Kuehne, Kris Tschetter and Silvia Cavalleri.

Karrie Webb shot a -1 (70) to be part of a ten-way tie for seventh place with world number one Annika Sorenstam and twenty-one others closing the day a shot back at Even Par.

Rachel Teske continues her good form, closing the first round at Even Par and in 17th place. Others placing this week include Mardi Lunn at 39th, Fiona Pike 58th, Joanne Mills 75th, Wendy Doolan and Michelle Ellis 93rd, Carmen Hajjar and Tamie Durdin 107th at 5.
