Stuart Appleby has moved from 13th to now 10th on the International team’s Presidents Cup standings by virtue of his 13th place at the International this past week. He is one of five Australians within the top ten of automatic selections with one week to go. Eduardo Romero’s disappointing last round today has seen Appleby going past him one way and Cabrera going past him the other way and he remains in 12th spot in the ranking. Cabrera slipped from 10th to 14th and, barring a miracle next week, seems out of the race.

The current international standings are:

Top 10
1. Ernie Els
2. Vijay Singh
3. Mike Weir
4. Nick Price
5. Retief Goosen
6. Robert Allenby
7. Stephen Leaney
8. Peter Lonard
9. Adam Scott
10. Stuart Appleby

Outside the Top 10
11. KJ Choi
12. Eduardo Romero
13. Michael Campbell
14. Angel Cabrera
15. Trevor Immelman
16. Craig Parry
17. Rory Sabbatini

The final make up of the team will be determined by the top 10 internationals (other then American or European) in the world ranking as at Sunday 17th August plus two Captain’s picks.
