South Korea’s Se Ri Pak held off her fellow countrywoman and currently the hottest player in women’s golf, Hee-Won Han, to win her third event of 2003, the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic, and the 21st of her LPGA Tour career.

It was a titanic battle between the two 25-year-olds with a bogey at the last hole costing Han the chance to even further improve on her amazing run of late. Han has won twice and been placed second twice in four of her last five events. She tied for second with Marissa Baena, who in her fifth season on tour, recorded her best placed finish.

Pak now moves back to second place on the 2003 ADFT Money list, regaining the position from Grace Park. Han remains in fifth place behind Annika Sorenstam, Pak, Park and Juli Inkster.

Defending champion, Rachel Teske, was the best placed Australasian in 8th place, continuing a great record at this venue. Fiona Pike was 23rd, Gloria Park 29th, Michelle Ellis 32nd, with Loraine Lambert and Marnie McGuire 43rd.

The LPGA now heads to Pennsylvania for the Wachovia LPGA Classic.
