Dier secures win at TNT Open

Germany’s Tobias Dier continued Germany’s dominance of the TNT Open over the past few years, closing with a -1 (69) to win by one stroke over England’s Jamie Spence. Dier set a course record with a -10 (60) in the first round and then went on to become the sixth wire-to-wire winner on the Tour this year, finishing at -17.
Australia’s Peter Lonard and Ireland’s Padraig Harrington finished in a tie for third at -15. Aussie Jarrod Mosely closed with a 67 to take sole possession of fifth place at -13.
Greg Turner took the top Kiwi honours at -9 and equal 16th with Aussies Peter O’Malley and Nick O’Hern both claiming 23rd place at -8. Scott Gardiner finished in equal 31st, Stephen Leaney 48th and Lucas Parsons 71st at 3. Boult, Scahill, Fowler and Rumford all missed the cut.
Defending champion Bernhard Langer shot a -1 (69) for the third straight day and was -2 for the tournament.
