Leaney to miss defence of his German Masters title

Stephen Leaney will now not be defending his title at the 2003 Linde German Masters, as his wife Tracey has gone into pre-labour back home in Perth and Leaney is keen to be with her.
Whilst the prospect of fatherhood is clearly something Leaney is looking forward to, the timing is unfortunate as Leaney's next three events would have been this week's event in Cologne, the Dunhill Links Championship the following week in Scotland followed by the American Express Championship in Georgia.
"It is a little disappointing because I had three big tournaments coming up, but is not a difficult decision for me to leave...my family comes first. It is always going to take precedence over golf." Stephen told Reuters in London.
Leaney, who is 84 places higher on the world ranking than at this time last year, is a member of this year's Presidents Cup team, which will be played in mid-November in South Africa.
