It might be Peter O’Malley or Scott Laycock, maybe Australian Open champion, Steve Allan, or even one of our prolific pro-am winners like Jeff Wagner.

Either way one of the stars of next week’s $100,000 New South Wales Open Championship could find themselves driving out of Macquarie Links in a stunning new Peugeot 307CC.

This fabulous new $50,000 vehicle will be launched in Australia in early 2004.

Yet the professionals who compete in the NSW Open get a chance to jump the gun and win one of only two vehicles of its type in Australia at the moment with a hole-in-one by hitting that magic shot on the 172m par three second hole on the final day of the Championship, Sunday, November 23.

The second hole, which is normally the 11th on the course’s original configuration, is one of the most picturesque holes on the Macquarie Links layout and is certain to be peppered by some close calls throughout the day.

The NSW Open is the only four-round men’s professional golf event in Sydney this season and has drawn an outstanding field for the tournament debut of one of Sydney’s newest golf courses, Macquarie Links near Campbelltown with the event run from November 20-23.

In a huge boost for the event, the New South Wales Golf Association this week signed up an exciting new sponsor for the event with the arrival of new “GolfSkins” compression garments.

GolfSkins are a new product designed to improve oxygenation of the muscles, improve muscle alignment and other substantial benefits.

In short they improve strength and endurance from the first tee shot to the last putt, increasing concentration and consistency and reducing aches and pains in the legs after 18 holes. Golfskins actually have a cooling effect on the body on the hottest days.
