Australia's oldest professional golf tournament, the Australian PGA Championship today announced the addition of a new Naming Rights Sponsor.

Cadbury Schweppes Australia will be the historic championship's naming rights sponsor commencing in 2004 in a five-year deal.

Queensland Deputy Premier and Minister for Sport, the Hon. Terry Mackenroth made the announcement at Parliament House, Brisbane today.

Cadbury Schweppes' Managing Director, Mark Smith said, "This sponsorship represents the culmination of a 15 year relationship with the PGA. We are really excited about the opportunity to grow both our business and Australian golf through this partnership, particularly through the naming rights sponsorship and the Schweppes junior program."

"The PGA of Australia is delighted to have secured this support for our pinnacle event. This will build on the already strong relationship between Cadbury Schweppes and the PGA and provides a strong platform for other promotional activities to get more people involved in golf," added PGA CEO, Max Garske.
