With late afternoon conditions continuing to be perfect for scoring the birdie hunt rolls on at Huntingdale with 55 players under par on day one with three hours of play still remaining.

The delay late this morning has meant that the last group of today of Craig Lee, Tim Wilkinson and Ian Walker will not finish until after 8.30 this evening.

At 4:45pm local time here in Melbourne three players are now tied in the lead with defending champion Peter Lonard, Marcus Cain and Jarrod Moseley sharing a one shot lead over Peter Senior, Geoff Ogilvy, Robert Allenby and Adrian Percey.

Already a cut of around two under is looking likely at the completion of 36 holes tomorrow dependant of course on tomorrow’s conditions being similar to those of today.

Adam Scott, who had reached five under through ten holes after a bogey at the first, has dropped two shots in recent holes to be at three under and in 12th place.
