Change in weather slows scoring on day two

Cool temperatures and strong breezes are coming to the defence of what was, yesterday at least, a vulnerable Huntingdale Golf Club and there is at this stage, not a lot of movement at the top of the leaderboard as we approach midday here in Melbourne.
Peter Lonard has had two birdies and two bogeys in his opening nine holes, the highlight a six metre putt for birdie at the ninth to regain a share of the lead, while his joint overnight leader Marcus Cain has until 1:10pm before he sets out on his second round.
Jarrod Moseley has joined Lonard and Cain in the lead following his opening nine of one under 35. Peter Fowler, the New Zealand based Australian, has moved to five under to share third place with Peter Senior, Geoff Ogilvy and Robert Allenby. Fowler, following his fine year in Europe has had three birdies and one bogey to be at five under for the tournament through thirteen holes today.
Also making a big move today is tournament invite Steve Elkington who is four under through nine, four under for the tournament and now within two of the lead. Marcus Fraser is also working himself into a threatening position and is now at four under and in 8th place along which he shares with Peter O'Malley amongst others.
The cut looks as if it may well drift out a shot or two from yesterday's prediction as the more difficult scoring conditions take their toll. Currently even par, perhaps even one over, will get a start at the weekend.
