Parry on the move at Mastercard Masters
IN: News | Australasian PGA | MasterCard Masters (2003) | Round Three | by Bruce Young | 06 Dec 2003
Craig Parry, who has won this event three times previously, is the first to make a serious move amongst the leaders on day three at the MasterCard Australian Masters.
Parry birdied the second and third holes of his round and through those three holes, he now stands at four under for the tournament and now just six from the lead.
Queenslander Adam Crawford has also made a good start to be with Parry at four under. Crawford is three under through seven holes today.
Stephen Allan is at three under with three birdies in his first eight holes, and now just seven behind, he likely feels he still has some sort of chance should he be able to secure a few more birdies over the back nine. The current Australian Open champion has had a fine year in the US, securing full status for 2004 after starting the year with limited status.
Also at three under is the man who won the Australasian Tour Q-School last year, American Michael Pearson, who has moved up the leaderboard via his round today of four under through 13 holes.
We are now less than one hour away from the leader Robert Allenby heading out for this third round and much interest will be on his health and how he is recovering from a lingering virus.
