Robert Allenby's double bogey at the very first hole today has increased the list of candidates for the 2003 MasterCard Australian Masters as he comes back to the field.

He now leads by just one from Peter Senior, who bogeyed the first hole with another shot back to several players at six under including Queenslanders Adam Crawford and Andrew Buckle, Craig Parry, Peter Lonard and Jarrod Moseley.

Rod Pampling had made a great run at the lead when he too got to seven under through eight holes only to double bogey the 9th.

In brilliantly fine weather and gentle breezes the leaders have reached the fourth hole and with just two shots separating seven players, the scene is set for a fascinating next three hours.
