Nathan Green who, like his fellow leader Chris Downes, has just returned from the disappointment of missing his tour card in the US has started his second round of the Australian Open with two birdies in his first four holes to join Downes in the lead at five under. Peter Lonard, who still has ninety minutes before he tees it off is alone in third at four under while the list at three under includes Jarrod Moseley and John Senden who have both made progress early in their rounds plus Stuart Appleby.
Craig Jones, Ricky Barnes, Craig Parry and David McKenzie are also at three under but they will not be under way until this afternoon.
Aaron Baddeley who started well today with three birdies in four holes to get to four under has dropped all four shots to be at even par through nine holes.
