Australian Richard Moir maintained his lead in the Asian PGA Qualifying School Stage One after shooting a one-under-par 71 in the third round at Palm Resort Golf and Country Club.
Moir’s overnight lead of seven strokes was, however, reduced to only two as compatriot Jason Moon narrowed the gap after carding a fine 66 while Malcolm Baker also from Australia and Korean Choi Jin-Ho shared third place after identical rounds of 69.
Alistair Presnell of Australia, Seong Si-U of Korea and Japan’s Kotaro Asahara are also in good position to move into the Final Stage next week. The trio are tied fifth with a three-day total of 212, eleven strokes behind the leader.
The top-40 finishers and ties after tomorrow’s final round will qualify for the all-important Final Stage which is offering Tour cards to the top-40 players and ties.
