Richard Moir wins Stage One of Asian PGA Q-School

Australian Richard Moir won Stage One of the Asian PGA Qualifying School after shooting a final round three-under-par 69 at Palm Resort Golf and Country Club today.
After grabbing the lead on day two, Moir performed impressively over the next two days as he led 39 other qualifiers into the all-important Final Stage next week which is offering Tour cards for the top-40 finishers and ties. Another 116 player are already exempted into the Final Stage.
Moir’s four-day total of 18-under-par 270 was six shots clear of second placed Jason Moon, also of Australia, who closed with a 73. Korea’s Choi Jin-ho flew the Asian flag by finishing third following a 72 for a 280 total, some 10 shots behind Moir.
The Final Stage, which starts next Wednesday, will also be held at Palm Resort.
