Dawson finally gets there

It seems that every week a new story emerges where perseverance is rewarded or adversity is overcome on either the PGA or Buy.Com Tours.
This week is no exception as the 39 year old German born American, Marco Dawson won his first event in more than three hundred starts on either tour. Dawson is playing on a medical extension as a result of back surgery in 2000. He had played the PGA Tour for several years during the nineties and managed to retain his card, albeit only just, during most of those years. This win now has him back in fifth place on the money list and heading for the main tour again next year.
Darren Stiles finished in second place three behind Dawson with Casey Martin and Mark Wurtz tied in third. For Martin this represents some hope in a rather ordinary season to date. He had made only one cut in nine starts and had been languishing at the bottom of the money list until now. Stiles second place finish will move him to number two on the money list and we can expect to see him teeing it up next year with the big boys.
Nathan Green was 9th, Ben Ferguson 19th and Peter O' Malley 26th.
The latest Buy.Com Tour money list now has Gavin Coles in tenth spot, Steve Alker 11th, Peter O'Malley 16th and Anthony Painter 17th.
