The field for next week’s World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship was announced Friday afternoon and will feature Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Davis Love III and Mike Weir as the top seeds in each of the tournament’s four brackets.

The Accenture Match Play Championship will begin Wednesday, Feb. 25 at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, USA.

The four brackets at the Accenture Match Play Championship are named in honor of Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Sam Snead. The brackets will be released Monday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. PST, when they become official. After that point, any player who withdraws from the tournament will not be replaced, and his scheduled opponent will win in a walkover. Prior to the Monday deadline, alternates can gain entrance into the field.

Players in each of the four brackets are seeded No. 1 through No. 16, with the top-ranked golfer playing the No. 16 seed, No. 2 pairing off against No. 15, No. 3 vs. No. 14, and so forth in the first round.

In this new format, Woods, the highest-ranked player from the Official World Golf Ranking, will be the top seed in the Jones bracket and will play Shingo Katayama of Japan. Singh, the second-ranked player in the world, will be the top seed in the Player bracket, while Love and Weir will be the top seeds in the Snead and Hogan brackets, respectively.
