Lonard Ambassador for Heart Foundation
IN: News | 12 Aug 2002
Peter Lonard is helping the Heart Foundation tell Australians that getting active is good for your heart " I'm thrilled to take on this role and help the Heart Foundation promote the enjoyment and physical benefits of golf" said Peter. "Golf is a great game for players of all levels and it's never too late to start."
"We are thrilled to have Peter on board" said Maree Faulkner, Executive Director of the Heart Foundation. "Peter has had an outstanding year in America this year and he is a model of good sportsmanship and good health. The Heart Foundation recommends you get into moderate exercise several times a week to improve your heart health and golf is an ideal way of enjoying moderate exercise for men and women."
Through the help of the PGA of Australia the Heart Foundation will have a stand on the public days of the PGA 2002 Golf Show. You'll find it easily - it's the stall with the big poster of our Ambassador, Peter Lonard. While there you can sign up your team to support the Heart Classic to be held on November 7th at The Lakes where PGA Tour Australasia will present an expert clinic and make sure you get tickets in the raffle to win stunning wine donated by Rosemount - two bottles of Balmoral Syrah.
The Heart Foundation is Australia's leading heart health charity, saving lives through heart research, education programs and services to patients. Most Australians are unaware that cardiovascular disease - heart disease and stroke - is the leading cause of death in Australia.
