QLD Open confirmed as Von Nida Tour event for 2004

Following a recent co-ordinating committee meeting, officials of the Queensland Golf Union, PGA of Australia – Queensland Division and the Ipswich Golf Club announced that the 2004 QLD Group Queensland Open will be played at the Ipswich Golf Club from 4th – 7th November.
The event will be one of four tournaments in Queensland having Von Nida Tour sanction by the PGA of Australia and PGA Tour of Australasia.
Ken Delany – President of the Ipswich Golf Club said that the club was delighted to again be the host venue for this major State Championship.
PGA Tour Operations Manager, Gus Seebeck and PGA of Australia – Queensland Division Tournament Operations Manager, David Podlich will both be attending the Ipswich Golf Club on Monday 22nd March to inspect the golf course and make a major announcement in relation to this year’s event.
Major supporters and sponsors, Ipswich City Council and the QLD Group are continuing their support of the Championship, together with other supporting sponsors from the 2003 tournament and all are looking forward to a bigger and better Championship this year.
The involvement of the greater Ipswich City community will play a major part of the 2004 Open Championship promotion.
