Wright in semi-finals at US Women's Amateur

The 2002 US Women's Amateur will see four new semifinalists when play resumes Friday morning (US time) at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in the US. Twenty-one-year-old Brandi Jackson, Becky Lucidi, Maru Martinez and Lindsay Wright of Australia all made it through to the semifinals for the first time at a US Women's Amateur. Both Lindsey Wright, who hails from England originally, and Katherine Hull, who was defeated in matchplay earlier this week attend Pepperdine University in California. Hull is from Western Australia and Lindsay Wright from Victoria.

After two rounds (36 holes) of stroke play, the lowest 64 scorers advanced to match play. The first two rounds of match play, consisting of 18 holes each, was played Wednesday (US time), with the third round and quarterfinals contested Thursday (US time). The semifinals are scheduled for Friday (US time) and the 36-hole final is set for Saturday (US time).
