Williamson wins first Buy.Com Tour event

Tyler Williamson’s last seven events on the Buy.Com Tour, in his first full season, have hardly provided the evidence that a win was just around the corner. He had missed his last three cuts, had withdrawn twice and 32nd was best in his other two.
That he was able to win his first event on the Buy.Com Tour with such an ordinary lead in and with limited experience suggests that he has a future. In 2000 he had won won twice on the Hooters Tour but is playing the Buy.Com Tour for the first time on a full time basis this year.
His win in the end was by a shot over Jeff Klauk, brother of recent Western Amatuer winner John, and Keoke Kotner.
A disappointing week for the Australasians with none making the cut.
