Pisani wins Mastercard Junior Masters

Indooroopilly member Ben Pisani has secured a place in the 2004 Mastercard Australian Masters at Huntingdale Golf Club after winning the inaugural 2004 Mastercard Junior Master at the Vines Golf in Perth on Friday.

Pisani outlasted an outstanding field with rounds of 73.73.72.66 (284) to finish 8 shots clear of runner-up Andrew Downton (NSW). Pisani’s impressive final round 66 equalled the course record at the Vines Golf Club.

Pisani has shown some impressive form over the last 12 months and currently leads the Australian Junior Order of Merit with a number of excellent finishes. The leader of the Australian Junior Order of Merit following the Aaron Baddeley World Junior Championship in November will receive and invitation to contest the Centenary Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

In pursuit of this honour, Pisani will remain in WA this week and contest the Srixon WA Junior Championship – one of 14 Australian Junior Order of Merit qualifying events.

At 17 years of age, Pisani has impressed State Selectors with his form and will represent Queensland in the Open team contesting the Australian Interstate Teams Matches being played at Royal Queensland Golf Club in September.
