Jason Day dominates Gary Player Classic

Exciting youngster, Jason Day from Hills International Golf Club has continued his outstanding year with a course record equalling 63 (9 under par) in the first round of the 2004 Gary Player Classic at Pacific Golf Club this morning.
Day, who is the current World, Australian and New Zealand Junior Champion, recorded a remarkable round which included one eagle and eight birdies, to lead the 16-17 years age division by six shots after the first round.
Eagle Chang (Oxley) fired the best round of the afternoon – a three under par 69 to hold a one stroke lead over Nick Sargent (Hills) in the 15 years and under division.
Playing on his home course, Pacific’s Brett Rankin is tied with Hills’ Nick Bradley at one under par – leading the 18 – 20 years section.
