Jason Day retains the lead at the halfway mark of the Gary Player Classic in the 16-17 Years division following a round of 74 in windy conditions at Pacific Golf Club. Day is at -7 (137) helped by his awesome opening round of 63 (-9).
In pursuit of Day is Jake Younan-Wise (Coolangatta-Tweed Heads), who fired a 70 to trail by just 2 shots on 139 (-5). On a difficult day for scoring, Younan-Wise holed out for an eagle in spectacular fashion on the par 4, 6th hole, which was a highlight for the day.
Leading the 18-20 years division is local player Kurt Carlson on 142 (-2) after rounds of 72 and 70. He leads Gavin Riys (Wynnum) by four shots after Gavin shot a fine round of 70 today.
