33 year old Swede Robert Karlsson added a second round 66 to his opening 65 to open up a four shot lead in the Omega European Masters in Cran Sur Sierre in Switzerland.
Karlsson, who was fifteenth on last year’s Volvo Order of Merit has struggled this season with just the one top ten, but leads here over fellow Klas Eriksson and Scot Andrew Coltart.
The event is played in one of the most spectacular locations for a golf course high above the Rhone Valley in Switzerland. The golf course does not match the scenery but then again it spends several months a year as a the base for the learners slopes in the twin towns ski resort of Crans Montana and Crans Sur Sierre
Stephen Leaney was the leading down under player at 4 under in 13th place, Brett Rumford, Jarrod Moseley and Michael Campbell 2 under, with Stephen Scahill and Scott Gardiner just making the cut at one over.
Peter Fowler, Nick O’Hern, Peter Senior, Lucas Parsons and Greg Turner all missed the cut.
