Lancaster and Andrade share half way lead

Just five days short of his fortieth birthday Neil Lancaster is looking for the best possible present as he shares the lead after thirty six holes of the Bell Canadian Open. Lancaster has had just the one win on tour way back in 1994 at the Byron Nelson.
Late in the day Billy Andrade joined Lancaster at the top of the leaderboard both have had identical scores of 66 and 67 to be at 11 under on the par 72 Angus Glen layout.
They lead by a shot from New Zealander Grant Waite and local hero Ian Leggatt whose back nine of 30 catapulted him up the leaderboard. Leggatt now lives in Arizona but was born and raised in Ontario so will have plenty of family and friends for support the weekend.
Waite, who so nearly won this event two years ago falling victim at the last hole to a Tiger Woods miracle shot at Glen Abbey, needs a good finish to boost his season's earnings towards the $US460,000 or so that he will need for full playing priviledges next season. He currently has $US183,000 and with this being a $US4,000,000 event, a top three here will do it for him. That however, is some way off yet.
Frank Nobilo, another in need of a good finish, is in 7th place at 7 under, Rod Pampling 13th at 6 under, Paul Gow 5 under, John Senden 3 under, Steve Allan 3 under and Geoff Ogilvy 2 under.
Mattie Goggin, Michael Long and Bradley Hughes all missed the cut, Long and Goggin by just one shot.
