In what was a much better day for the Australians on day three at the Espirito Santo Trophy in Puerto Rico, they have improved considerably on their previous best for the week, but made little ground on those ahead.
Sarah Jane Kenyon and Sarah Kemp both recorded one under par rounds of 71 for a team total of 142, ten shots better than that recorded in either of the first two rounds. The Australians are in 20th place.
New South Wales' Katy Jarokowicz has been the disappointment at the event, recording a 79 today to follow her opening rounds of 82 and 83. Kemp is the best of the Australians in the individual standings in 28th place with a combined three round total of 7 over. Kenyon is two behind her.
The leaders in the event overall are the Canadians who have led from the start and hold a two shot lead over Sweden with the USA three further back.
The individual leader is Sweden's Karen Sjodin who leads by one over Julieta Granada of Paraguay. One further round remains.
