Allenby makes early move at Australlian Open

At 12:45 EDST on day three of the Hillross Australian Open, hot temperatures and gentle breezes have welcomed the leading groups as they set out in the quest for an Australian Open crown.

Rodney Pampling and Kurt Barnes are the last group out at 1:10pm and early scoring amongst the leading groups suggests a slightly more user-friendly Australian Golf Club layout than was the case yesterday. The breeze doesn't seem to quite know what it wants to do but if it strengthens at all, then the demons that tormented the late field yesterday, may well reappear.

The course is getting drier by the day after being very soft and receptive early in the week.

Robert Allenby has made an early move on day three at two under through seven holes and now back to even par for the tournament. Nathan Green and Richard Green are both now at one under after starting the day at even.

But the man they must all chasing is the Queenslander Rod Pampling who at eight under has, to a very large extent, the tournament to win or lose.
