After thirty-six holes of the $US500,000 Volvo China Open in Shanghai, four Australians are amongst the top six players on the leaderboard and five are in the top ten.

David Gleeson, the twenty-four year old from Dalby in Queensland and the first round leader, has maintained his position in the lead but only by a shot from Mexican Pablo Del Olmo with Australian Brad Kennedy one shot further back.

Another Queenslander Scott Hend, a winner on the Canadian Tour this season, is two shots further back in fourth place tied with West Australian Kim Felton and Indian Jyoti Randhawa.

South Australian Adrian Percy rounds out the five Australians in the top ten in tenth place at five under and seven behind Gleeson.

Gleeson is currently in 44th place on this season’s money list while Brad Kennedy is having a fine season in Asia currently 14th on the order of merit with $US63,000.

I can’t recall an event previously in the history of the Davidoff Asian PGA Tour where Australians have had so much presence after thirty-six holes.
